    Fellowship Guidelines
    A total of 12 SUNY LSAMP Bridges to the Doctorate Fellowships will be awarded.

    All interested candidates must:
  • Have participated in an LSAMP Program
  • Have obtained a Bachelors Degree in a STEM Discipline
  • Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Have a 3.0 GPA or better
  • Be accepted and plan matriculate into a STEM Masters program at UB
  • Want to pursue a Doctoral Degree in a STEM discipline

  • Gain research expertise chosen area of study
  • Faculty Mentorship
  • Resources to support student participation in workshops, seminars and professional development in STEM related topics
  • Professional and research travel opportunities
  • Seminars intending to focus on productive academic efforts, to demystify degree programs and to explain the intricacies of available career options

  • Financial support package:
  • 2-year fellowship of $30,000 per year for full-time matriculating students in good academic standing
  • Graduate school tuition and fee waiver
  • Paid health insurance

  • Brief personal statement outlining academic interests and career goals

  • Faculty letter of support outlining students’ potential for success in graduate school

  • Participant in undergraduate LSAMP program or graduate from an LSAMP institution
